Festival Wakeboard Park Open/Demo Day

This weekend I went over to the new Festial Wake Park for their Grand Opening/Demo Day, the obstacles are sick, and the cable is supertight and high, they also have a large shop onsite stocking various wake Brands including the awesome Mystic wetsuit range avaliable also from Tribalwatersports, and I even made it into their local Echo newspaper, check it out!

Festival Wakeboard Park is a brand new UK Cable Wakeboarding facility in Basildon Essex. The site will offer a 660 metre 5 pylon Rixen cable tow system together with a 175 metre Sesitec System 2.0 straight line cable complete with state of the art Industry Wake Park kickers and Sliders.

AOD UK Boat Comp-Stop 1

LDBwakeschool hosted the first of four Boat stop comps at the weekend with Quayside hosting the next stop. I managed 5th place in Boys Division (12-15yrs) and was really pleased with my results as I haven’t competed in Boat for a while landing a new trick in my run! Thanks to Lee at LDB wakeschool for the great coaching & comp, & Fox for sponsoring the event. This Axis 20 wakeboat is the first in the UK and is so sick to ride behind, looking forward to learning some more new tricks behind it.

General Lascelles Grant 2012

BIG Thank You to BWS&W and The General Lascelles Grant for again this year supporting me with funding towards my training, the Lascelles Awards, offer grants to young wakeboarders amongst other disciplines of British Water Ski & Wakeboard. The awards are open to youngsters between the ages of 12 and 18 years of age and came about when Former President of British Water Ski, Major General Anthony Lascelles, left a trust fund. Grants were then established to assist highly promising young athletes from any recognised sporting division of BWS&W to win medals at European and World Championships.

London Boat Show Wakeboarding

Had such a sick time at the show this week, I was one of four lucky GB Team riders invited to take part in the British Cable Wakeboard Team display at the Tullett Prebon London Boat show, where a 70ft Action Watersports pool was built inside the show with a kicker and a slider installed!

The displays were held on the Monday 9th & Thursday 12th as well as a Pro compitition on the Thursday night with £1000 up for grabs shared between best Kicker, Slider and Air tricks. It was great fun riding alongside some of the UK’s top Pro riders including World champion Nick Davies, check out some of the highlights of the show & competition here. Once again thanks to Fox, TribalWatersports my new sponsor Bern UK Helmets  for supplying my kit and Tim Woodhead at Industry Wake Parks for inviting me to ride in the competition, check out his straight line cables at system2wakeparks
