LONDON BOAT SHOW

Top UK Pro riders are back in action in the watersports pool at the 2012 Tullett Prebon London Boat Show starting next week with a brand new, never seen before feature promising to bring more energy and excitement to the Pro Wakeboard Show, as well as British Cable Wakeboard Team displays on Monday 9th & Thursday 12th at 2.15, with the Pro wakeboard compitition on the Thursday night.

Ctrl Wakeboards

Check out the new 2012 Ctrl Wakeboards coming soon! I’am currently riding the Ctrl Standard model, Tribalwatersports will be getting the 2012 range in stock soon:

Don’t be fooled by the Standard, it really is just that, a new industry standard. Built from the ground up to give you everything you need as you get going. Right from the start CTRL built this board to a higher standard. From their bomber rail design, reinforced base, and their ERC Core 1 construction, the standard is built to take the abuse thrown its way. With a moderate fast continuous rocker and fins that are not only the proper shape, length and style of in you need on an entry level board; it’s pretty much bullet proof as well. All the features, function and performance you can expect at CTRL are here on their Standard board aswell.

WAKEPRESS MAG @ WMSKI

Had such a sick day recently at WMSKI, where I was lucky enough to be invited to join a group of their regular riders being filmed & photographed shredding the lake courtesy of wakepressmag.com the UK’s only online wakeboard and wakeskate magazine, one of the coolest thing i’ve seen is when they launched their helicopter GoPro cam which is used to take pics from above, as well as setting up a barrel behind a kicker with smoke bombs and a pumpkin placed on top to jump over! Check out their online magazine it rocks.

WWA WAKE PARK WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS

This looks like its going to be a sick comp! On the 7th-10th December this year, the WWA Wake Park World Championships will be hosted by Al Forsan International Sports Resort in Abu Dhabi, where Sixteen divisions of pro and amateur riders will compete for top honors, and it’s set to be  the largest gathering of competitive cable athletes in the World!

ROPE & WIRES COMP RESULTS

With the wakeboard competition season coming to an end for this year, the Ropes & Wires combined cable & boat competition is always a popular event with both riders & sponsors, a great turn out with approx 80 competitors attending this year!

My team ‘Fox & Rope’ entered the Youth division, and were up against five other Youth teams so it was going to be a tough competition, however with all our combined points for both cable and boat riding tricks performed added together we managed a 1st place team win, thank you Box End Park for a great competition and again to my sponsors for supporting me again this year, Fox for my sick clothes, Tribalwatersports for all my kit, and LDB wakeschool  for getting my boat riding sorted, please check them out!

ROPES & WIRES BOAT/CABLE COMP

Take a load of boat riders, add in a bunch of cable riders and then give them a 1 day team event, Ropes and Wires is back at Box End Park on Saturday 8th October. Teams of 4 will be able to rack up points during exclusive cable time, followed by the chance to top up scores behind the Mastercraft X-Star.

This year our team will be called the ’Fox & Rope Team’  with our team of riders  being either sponsered by Fox or Ropewakeboards and will be entering the Youth (under 16yrs) division.

British Cable Slalom Ski Championships

The British Cable Slalom Ski National Championships were held this year at Liquid Leisure  at the weekend, so I swapped my wakeboard for a ski for the day, and entered into the Boys under 15yr old division, where the fastest completed run through the course of buoys takes the Gold, and came 1st :-o

BIG thanks to Fox and Tribalwatersports for all their support!

WMSKI CHAVS & NERDS COMPETITION

This was a great fun Wakeboard & Wakeskate competition held at WMSKI every year, this year the theme was Chavs & Nerds, starting off with an hours Jam style qualification round then into the finals with two runs allowed, and best run scoring.  I entered the Open division Wakeskate comp coming 3rd, and entered the Pro division Wakeboard comp coming 6th.

CABLE EUROPEANS UPDATE

Here’s an update of my European competition:

A record of 156 athletes from 21 Countries took part in the 2011 Championships making it the largest so far, and were 24 riders in Boys division, with 4 heats of 6 riders, only 1 go through from each group to finals, leaving 4 heats of 5 riders to battle it out in LCQ’s, again only 1 rider from each group goes through to make up a 8 rider final.

In my first heat I came 3rd, but was still pleased as I was the youngest in that group, and so went into LCQ’s. I rode really well sticking my run but unfortunately was just outgunned and came 2nd so just missed out on the finals,  but  i’m really pleased with the results being my first year in the Boys division.

I ended up coming 9th out of the 24 riders and helped team GB win 3rd overall on points so came away from the Europeans with my team GB Bronze medal as I was selected to be a points scorer, it was a great experience :-)

BIG thanks to Fox and Tribalwatersports for all their support!
